🌊 Sea Pines Golf Course – Hua Hin’s Risk & Reward Gem 🌊
Sea Pines is Hua Hin’s only true links-style golf course, with water and hazards waiting on nearly every hole. It’s one of the region’s most challenging layouts, but also one of the most scenic, with spectacular ocean views that make it a favorite for both locals and visitors.
Originally built by the Royal Thai Army in 2010 as a retreat for soldiers and their families, the course later came under Dusit Thani management, together with the two seaside hotels at Suan Son Pradiphat. At its best, Sea Pines ranks top 3 in Hua Hin, though in recent years course conditioning has been more modest. Improving consistency remains the key to competing with Springfield and Palm Hills.
The final stretch by the sea is unforgettable. Hole 16, a dramatic par 5 dogleg, tempts golfers with a narrow downhill fairway flanked by water, followed by a panoramic approach overlooking the ocean. Hole 17, the signature par 3, demands a carry over water to a peninsula green set against the sea — breathtaking but punishing when the wind blows. The 18th, a long par 4, forces a bold 220-yard carry over a canal or a conservative lay-up, ensuring a tense finish.
After your round, the clubhouse is the perfect place to relax, serving tasty Thai food at very reasonable prices with sweeping sea views.
👉 If you enjoy risk-and-reward golf in a stunning seaside setting, Sea Pines deserves a spot on your Hua Hin golf list.
