⛳ Hua Hin Korea Golf Course – A Hidden Gem Worth Saving
Despite its flaws, Hua Hin Korea Golf Course deserves more recognition. It is one of only two 18-hole courses in Hua Hin offering low green fees year-round, making it an attractive option for value-seeking golfers. It's a much better deal than Fort Thanarat Golf Club.
🎯 Playability
This is a technical course where accuracy matters far more than length. It may not be the best fit for beginners, but skilled players will find plenty of excitement and challenge.
Opportunities for Eagles and Birdies abound: a daring short par 4 invites you to reach the green in one stroke, and the finishing par 3 offers a generous birdie chance — perhaps McFarland’s way of saying sorry for the punishment earlier on.
🏗 History
The course began as part of the Milford Paradise Hotel project on the beach. Sadly, the developers lacked golf course experience — most critically, they never secured a reliable water system. This oversight led to years of neglect, despite McFarland’s brilliant design.
Over time, the course changed hands and names:
🌱 Revival
Since 2016, Hua Hin Korea Golf Club has managed the property. Their first priority was water: thousands of meters of new pipes have brought life back to the greens and fairways. Today, the course looks lush again — a remarkable recovery from its desert-like condition that lasted more than a decade.
While bunkers remain unplayable and the clubhouse shows its age, the heart of the course — McFarland’s unique design — is very much alive.
