The Royal Hua Hin was opened in 1924 which makes it Thailand's first golf course. Interestingly, it was designed by Scottish railway engineer A.O. Robbins and therefore has characteristics of a traditional British golf course. It is challenging and you rarely see low scores. Amazing how they managed to create a golf course that 100 years later is a challenge for today's golfers.
The golf course is ideally located only 7 minutes from downtown and our Guest House, making it an extremely accessible golf course. It has received a very deserved bad reputation in recent years. Overpricing of green fees, it should have been half, has resulted in few visitors. The bunkers are almost unplayable, greens and fairways have been mediocre at best.
But, after years of waiting for a decision, they ended up with neither the highway nor the railroad tracks destroying the golf course. Finally, it looks like Royal Hua Hin can look ahead.
We believe in a bright future for Royal Hua Hin, with new leadership in place. We love the golf course layout and location. This could be a gold mine for the owners going forward.
